In a green forest, there was a woodcutter living there by his wife and his two kids. His son’s name was Hansel and his daughter’s name was Gretel. They were very poor. There were times that they even hadn’t something to eat for a day. One day, our poor woodcutter didn’t have enough money for a loaf of bread.
So when the night came, he started to think and think. At the end, he whispered to his wife:
What will happen to us? We can not feed our kids. they are starving.
I know the solution dear! Said the wife. We will take the kids deep in the forest early in the morning. we will ignite a fire for them and we will give each of them a loaf of bread. Then we will leave them for good. They will never find us again and with this plan, we will get rid of them.
Oh no wife! I can not imagine how I’m gonna do that! I can’t leave my kids alone in the forest! Wild animals will find them and swallow them in a moment.
You stupid man! Yelled the wife! Then the four of us will die out of hunger! You better start and make the coffins.
After a while, the man seemed convinced.
OK! But I really am sad for my poor kids.
Not being able to sleep because of hunger, Hansel and Gretel heard what their step mom planned for them. they cried quietly. Gretel said:
This is the end of our story! We are going to die tommorow!
Be quiet Gretel and don’t afraid! I’ve got this.
He waited until both their parents went to sleep. Then he got up, put on his jacket and slipped out from the back door. He stood near the garden, where the white stones were shining under the moon’s light! He picked up as many stones as he could and filled his pocket with them.
Then he turned back to the house and said to his sister:
Keep calm dear and sleep in peace! God will never forget us!
next morning, just before the sunrise, the step mom came and said:
Wake up! Wake up you lazy kids. We have to go to the forest and cut woods for your father.
Then she gave each of them a bread and said:
This is your dinner. Don’t eat it until then!
Gretel take the bread and hide it under her apron, because Hansel had his pocket full of stones. Then they started their journey to the forest. In their way, Hansel took a stone from his pocket every now and then and dropped it on the ground.
When they reached the heart of the forest, they collect wood with their father and used it to make a fire to keeping them warm. When the fire was ready, The step mom said:
Now lie down and rest kids. Your father and I will collect woods and when we were ready to go, we will wake you up!
After a while, they became tired and fell sleep. When they finally woke up, it was night. Gretel started crying and said:
OMG! How shall we get of this forest?
Don’t even think about it sis! Wait a little bit, when the moon rises, we will easily find our way to home.
And when the full mon got up, Hansel took Gretel’s hand and started to follow the white stones that were shining like silver. They walk all the night and next morning, they reached their house. They knocked the door. When the wife opened the door and saw Hansel and Gretel, she said:
You naughty children! How many hours you slept in the woods! We thought you’ll never come back.
But their father was so happy for seeing his kids once again.
Not very long after, another scarcity came to that area. Gain the children heard their step mom talking to their father:
Everything is finished! We just have a half a loaf and after that we will die! We have to get rid of the kids! This time we will take them even deeper in the woods so they will never find us again.
The man wasn’t happy with this at all! He whispered:
I’d rather to share my last morsel with my kids.
But the tricky step mom didn’t listened to him at all and finally managed to convince him to redo the plan.
Children heard this conversation completely. When the parents went to sleep, Hansel got up and wore his jacket. He wanted to go and pick up more white stones, but the step mom had locked the door. Hansel didn’t manage to get out but he started to comfort his little sister:
Don’t cry little sis! Go to sleep! I’m sure God will help us!
Next morning, the step mom came and woke them up and gave each of them a little piece of bread. even less than before. On they way to the woods, Hansel crumbled the bread in his pocket and every now and then, he dropped a crumb on the ground.
Hansel strewed bread crumbs all along the road. Woman take them deep deep into the forest. Where they never been before in their short lives. Then again they collect wood and made a large fire. The step mom said:
Sit here, you children, and when you are tired you can go to sleep; we are going into the forest to cut wood, and in the evening, when we are ready to go home we will come and wake you up.
So when noon came Grethel shared her bread with Hansel, who had strewed his along the road. Then they fell sleep, and the evening passed, and no one came for the poor children. When they woke up it was dark night. Hansel comforted his little sister:
Wait a little, Gretel, until the moon gets up. We will be able to find our way by the bread crumbs I scattered on the road.
So when the moon rose they got up, but they there were no bread crumbs on the ground, cause the birds of the forest and of the fields had come and eat them. Hansel thought they might find the way all the same, but they could not.
They walked that night, and the next day from the morning until the evening, but they could not find the way back to their home, and they were starving, for they had nothing to eat but the few berries they could pick up.
When they got very tired and decided to lay down under a tree and sleep.
It was now the third morning since they had left their father’s house. They were always trying to get back to it, but instead of that they only found themselves farther in the wood, and if help had not soon come they would have been starved.
About noon they saw a pretty snow-white bird sitting on a branch, and singing so sweetly that they stopped to listen. And when he had finished the bird spread his wings and flew before them, and they followed after him until they came to a little house, and the bird landed on the roof, and when they came closer they saw that the house was built of sweets, and roofed with cakes; and the window was of transparent sugar.
We will have some of this, said Hansel, and make a fine meal. I will eat a piece of the roof, Gretel, and you can have some of the window-that will taste like sugar.
So Hansel reached up and broke off a bit of the roof, just to see how it tasted, and Gretel stood by the window and chewed it. Suddenly they heard a thin voice coming from the inside:
Nibble, nibble, like a mouse,
Who is nibbling at my house?
And the children thought:
Never mind, It is the wind.
And they continued eating, not paying attention o the sound. Hansel, who found that the roof tasted very nice, took down a great piece of it, and Gretel pulled out a large round window-pane.
Then the door opened, and an aged woman came out, leaning upon a crutch. Hansel and Gretel felt very scared, and they dropped all was in their hands. The old woman, however, nodded her head, and said:
Ah, my dear children, how did you end up here? You must come in and stay with me, there is no problem with that.
So she took them each by the hand, and led them into her little house. And there they found a good meal laid out, of milk and pancakes, with sugar, apples, and nuts. After that she showed them two little white beds, and Hansel and Gretel laid themselves down on them, and thought they were in heaven.
The old woman, although her behavior was so kind, was a wicked witch, who lay in wait for children, and had built the little house on purpose to attract them. When they were once inside she used to kill them, cook them, and eat them, and then it was a feast day with her.
The witch’s eyes were red, and she could not see very far, but she had a keen scent, like the beasts, and knew very well when human creatures were near. When she knew that Hansel and Gretel were coming, she gave a spiteful laugh, and said with success:
I have them, and they shall not escape me!
Early in the morning, before the children were awake, she got up to look at them, and as they lay sleeping so peacefully with round rosy cheeks, she said to herself:
What a fine feast I shall have!
Then she grasped Hansel with her droopy hand, and led him into a little stable, and shut him up behind a fence. Hansel yelled and cried for help but it wasn’t enough to rescue him. Then the witch went back to Gretel and shook her:
Wake up lazy girl. You have to go and get some water. Cook something nice for your brother. I want him to get fat. When he becomes chubby, I will eat him up.
Gretel began to cry from the bottom of her heart, but it was useless, she had to do what the wicked witch told her. And so the best kind of snacks was cooked for poor Hansel, while Gretel got nothing but crab-shells.
Each morning the old witch visited the little stable, and cried:
Hansel, stretch out your finger, that I may tell if you are fat enough!
Hansel, however, used to hold out a little bone, and the old woman, who had weak eyes, could not see what it was, and supposing it to be Hansel’s finger, wondered very much that why isn’t he getting fat.
When four weeks had passed and Hansel seemed to remain so thin, she lost patience and couldn’t wait more.
Now then, Gretel, said the witch, come on! go get some water. no matter he is fat or thin, tomorrow I must kill and cook him.
Little Gretel who was very sad, started crying and her tears slipped on her cheeks:
Dear God, please help us! if we had been devoured by wild animals in the wood at least we should have died together.
Don’t waste your tears. said the old woman; they are of no avail.
Early next morning Gretel had to get up, make the fire, and fill the kettle.
First we will do the baking, said the old woman; I nave heated the oven already, and kneaded the dough.
She pushed poor Gretel towards the oven, out of which the flames were already shining.
Look inside, said the witch, and see if it is properly hot, so that the bread may be baked.
Gretel noticed that when she become close to the oven, the witch will push him into it, and after cooking her, she will eat her. So she said:
I don’t know how to do it! how shall I get in?
Stupid goose, said the old woman, the door is big enough, do you see? I could get in myself!
and she stooped down and put her head in the oven’s mouth. Then Gretel gave her a push, so that she went in farther, and she shut the iron door upon her, and put up the bar. Oh how frightfully she howled! but Gretel ran away, and left the wicked witch to burn miserably.
Gretel went straight to Hansel, opened the stable-door, and cried:
Hansel, we are free! the old witch is dead!
As soon as the door is opened, Hansel ran out of the stable and hug her little sister. How happy they both were! And as they had nothing more to fear they went over all the old witch’s house, and in every corner there stood chests of pearls and precious stones.
This is something better than white stones! said Hansel, as he filled his pockets.
And Gretel, thinking she also would like to carry something home with her, filled her apron full!
Now, we have to go! said Hansel, if we only can get out of the witch’s wood.
When they had journeyed a few hours they came to a great river.
We can never get across this, said Hansel, There is no stepping stones or bridge.
And there is no boat either, said Gretel; but here comes a white duck; if I ask her she will help us over.
So she sang:
Duck, duck, here we stand,
Hansel and Gretel, on the land,
Stepping-stones and bridge we lack,
Carry us over on your nice white back.
And the duck came, and Hansel got upon her and told his sister to come too.
No, answered Gretel, that would be too hard upon the duck; we can go separately, one after the other.
And that was how they did it, and after that they went on happily, until they came to the wood, and the way grew more and more familiar, till at last they saw in the distance their father’s house.
Then they ran till they came up to it, rushed in at the door, and fell on their father’s neck. The man had not had a quiet hour since he left his children in the wood; but the wife was dead.
And when Gretel opened her apron the pearls and precious stones were scattered all over the room, and Hansel took one handful after another out of his pocket. Then was all care at an end, and they lived in great joy together.

Once upon a time, there lived a poor servant girl named Cinderella. She was a patient, tender and kind girl. His days were long and tiring. Full of the most boring and worst housework.
Washing the floor, washing the clothes, dusting the shelves and cooking food were the tasks that she had to do during the day. Cinderella was forced to work from morning to evening without receiving a single Penny.
Cinderella’s mother died when she was very young, and her father remarried soon after. But his new wife was a nasty woman. She had two daughters from her previous marriage who were as naughty as she was.
They tormented poor Cinderella terribly every day. One day, when Cinderella was sweeping the ashes from the fireplace, they mocked her and sang:
Poor girl, poor girl
Her face is black, burnt and ugly
Even though her stepmother and half-sisters had tormented her for years, she had never once disrespected them or tried to take revenge on them. She did not wish them ill at all.
She patiently did the housework, hoping that when she grew up she could run away and start the wonderful life she longed for.
One day when Cinderella was working at home, someone knocked on the door. Cinderella hurriedly opened the door. Behind the door stood a short, fat man dressed in royal robes and holding an important scroll.
The old man opened the scroll and began to read:
It is my duty to announce that the king has sent an official invitation to all the young ladies of this land to attend the important royal celebration in the palace.
Hearing this, Cinderella’s stepsisters pushed her to a corner and stood in front of the fat man. The man continued to read:
His Highness the Crown Prince is looking for a suitable lady for marriage. He wants to meet all the girls of this land to find true love. Please come to the palace on Saturday at 8 pm.
The little man turned, mounted his horse, and galloped off. Two knights also followed him closely.
The half-sisters closed the door and gave a loud shout of joy.
Cinderella’s stepmother entered the room.
She said impatiently:
What is the reason for all this happiness?
Oh…mom…we’ve been invited to the royal party and I’m sure one of us will be chosen as the new princes.
The stepmother replied with a mocking smile:
Of course you do, what prince wouldn’t want to marry my sweet and precious children!
Cinderella was desperately trying to quiet them down a bit. Because she knew in her heart that any prince would rather live alone for the rest of his life than to blacken his fortune by marrying these rude girls.
The stepmother turned to Cinderella and shouted:
Why did you stop and look? Prepare the clothes.
Cinderella nodded and said:
Yes Mam!
Cinderella wanted more than anything to go to the royal party. But she did not dare to ask permission from her wicked stepmother, because she knew that the wicked stepmother would not give her this permission. So she busied herself with housework and of course preparing her half-sisters’ dresses.
The evening of the royal royal feast arrived.
A magnificent horse-drawn carriage pulled up to the front door of the house, and the half-sisters, dressed in their hand-embroidered dresses, entered the carriage with much pomp and show.
Cinderella looked at them with great sadness and sighed deeply.
She said to herself:
If I could only have one wish for the rest of my life, it would be to attend a royal party and get away from the dreaded and boring housework for just one night.
Suddenly, a great light appeared in the sky.
A small fairy appeared in front of Cinderella, holding a small wand.
Fairy said happily:
Your wish will come true!
Cinderella asked in surprise:
what?
I will fulfill your wish; Because I am your fairy godmother. Oh, how much you have suffered in silence all these years. You have a kind soul. A kind and patient young lady.
Cinderella exclaimed happily
Oh I can’t believe it!!
But suddenly a frown appeared on her face.
But I’m not ready, Fairy Godmother. My clothes are cotton and my shoes are torn. I can’t be in the palace like this!
Fairy Godmother said with a smile:
Don’t worry, Cinderella. All I need to make your wish come true is a pumpkin, a rat, two mice and four grasshoppers.
Cinderella looked very confused.
So hurry up dear. hurry up!!
Cinderella ran and prepared everything that the fairy godmother said.
First, Cinderella went to the garden and came back with a big and ripe pumpkin. The fairy godmother tapped it once with her wand and in an instant the pumpkin turned into a magnificent golden carriage.
Then, Cinderella returned a mouse from the mouse trap in the kitchen.
Fairy godmother said:
Great dear, now if you don’t mind putting them on the carriage seat for me
Cinderella quickly did this.
The fairy waved her wand again. The two mice that Cinderella found in the barn turned into two servants in classy clothes. The four grasshoppers turned into four magnificent white horses.
said the fairy godmother
And now for the final magic…
And she hit Cinderella on the shoulder with her wand.
A spark rose. The old clothes she was wearing a moment ago suddenly changed. Cinderella sparkled in a magical, sparkly gown fit for a princess. Cinderella looked at her feet. He was wearing a pair of very beautiful glass shoes that glowed in the dark.
Fairy godmother cried:
Amazing!!! But remember that at 12 o’clock at night, this magic spell will be broken and your clothes will turn into old clothes.
Cinderella said as she kissed her fairy godmother on the cheek
I understand. And thank you very much for the great favor you have done to me Fairy Godmother!!
Cinderella entered the carriage and drove to the royal party.
As the golden carriage passed through the palace gates, trumpets sounded and Cinderella was given a royal welcome.
All the ladies were amazed at her magnificence.
As she entered the ballroom, the prince was immediately struck by Cinderella’s elegance and the warmth of her smile.
The prince approached.
He bowed his head slowly and extended his hand and said:
Ma’am, would you do me the honor to dance with you?
Cinderella said with dignity and kindness:
Sure! I will be so happy.
The orchestra started playing.
Everyone in the ballroom was staring at them. Cinderella’s stepsisters were watching this scene, but Cinderella had changed so much that they didn’t recognize her at all. Instead, they stared at Cinderella with envy.
From that moment on, the prince only had eyes for Cinderella. They danced the whole night in each other’s arms and enjoyed each other’s company.
Many hours left.
9 pm
10 pm
11 pm
Suddenly Cinderella looked at the clock. It was one minute to midnight and he only had one minute to break the spell.
He told the prince
I must go.
Without delay, she left the room, passed the guards and passed through the palace. But when she got to the hall, she lost one of her blue shoes. But it was too late that she did not return to pick it up.
Alas!
The midnight alarm rang.
Cinderella did not see any servants outside the palace. Only one pumpkin was not seen in the courtyard of the palace. Even mice, voles and grasshoppers were not seen. And Cinderella, whose clothes were now the same old ones, had no choice but to run home in the darkness of the night.
A few days passed.
Cinderella was doing her daily routine. And her half-sisters tease and tease her as always.
Everything was back to normal.
The memory of the royal party faded into Cinderella’s mind like a magical dream.
Did the pumpkin really turn into a golden carriage?
And the mouse to a carriage?
Had she really danced the night away with the prince?
She had doubts little by little.
Suddenly there was a sound at the door. Cinderella calmly opened the door.
In front of him stood the same little man.
he said triumphantly
His Excellency the prince is present.
The trumpet sounded. The prince got out of the carriage while holding a blue shoe.
Cinderella’s eyes widened. And she thought to herself:
So I wasn’t dreaming!!!
Suddenly, the prince’s eyes fell on Cinderella for a moment. A second was enough for him to recognize Cinderella.
Suddenly there was a sound of running and the stepsisters rushed to the door and threw Cinderella aside.
The little man continued:
His Majesty is visiting every house in the land to find the true owner of this glass shoe. If the shoe is the size of any girl’s foot, the prince will propose to her.
The sisters shouted out of excitement. This shoe is not suitable; But he didn’t want to tell them. So he gave them a chance to try the shoe.
The first sister’s foot was so big that half of it was forced to fit in the shoe.
The younger sister had more luck. He was able to fit his foot in the shoe by force, but his feet became swollen and red!
Then it was Cinderella’s turn.
The prince stepped forward with a knowing look, knelt down and carefully placed the glass slipper on Cinderella’s feet.
The prince smiled and said:
Perfect size! There is no doubt that you, Cinderella, are my true love. I couldn’t stop thinking about you. Will you honor me and marry me?
Cinderella looked at her clothes and then said to the prince:
I am only a poor servant
The prince replied:
You are a princes in my eyes. Our love is more valuable than all the treasures of the world.
Cinderella happily accepted the prince’s proposal and soon after they were married. It wasn’t long before they ruled as kings and queens and tried to provide prosperity and comfort to the people of their land.
Today my little listeners, I’m gonna tell you the story of Thumbelina!
Once upon a time, there was a woman living alone in a distant village. She was feeling only after the tragic death of her husband. She always wanted a child, but she hadn’t any. One day, she decided to visit her good friend who was also a witch.
The witch, gave her a grain of barely and said:
go home and plant this.
so the woman did so.
The very next day, a beautiful Tulip flower had grown from the grain. It was so beautiful. the woman hadn’t seen any flower like this in her life. When the flower blossomed, there was a pretty little girl inside it. The girl was no bigger than a thumb.
The woman fell in love with the girl and named her: Thumbelina
Thumbelina took away the woman loneliness. Woman would always tell her stories during the day. Sometimes woman would made a boat out of tulip petal which Thumbelina could row in a plate of water with it!
The woman made a bed with a walnut shell and a blanket out of rose petal for her. So Thumbelina had a soft and cozy bed to sleep every night.
One night, While Thumbelina was sleeping, a frog came by and see her through the window!
Wow! Such a beautiful girl! She would be a great bride for my son! He thought to himself.
So he grabbed Thumbelina and headed back to his house. Seeing his future bride, his son was happy.
I will marry her, daddy! But first, I have to build her a beautiful house.
Ok son! So until then, I will put her on the water lily in the middle of the pond so she doesn’t run away.
So the frog put Thumbelina on the lily leaf in the middle of the pond.
Thumbelina tried so hard to escape, but she couldn’t. So she burst into tears. Two minnows who were sitting under the leaf, heard her crying:
Why are you crying little girl? They asked. What’s the matter?
Thumbelina started to tell her story. When she finished, minnows decided to help her. They started nibbling the lily stem. It was soon after when the stem broke and the leaf floated away with Thumbelina.
But Thumbelina’s happiness didn’t last long. An ugly Beetle came and took Thumbelina to his house! The beetle called his friends and showed them his pretty new prisoner. But they weren’t happy to see Thumbelina!
Oh my friend! You should let her go! She is very different from us. She doesn’t belong here. you better let her go. Said his friends.
So the beetle dropped our Thumbelina in the long grass and flower.
Although she was happy that she was free from her captors, she didn’t know her way back to home! Days came by and she would eat the pollen of the flowers and drink the dew from their leaves.
One day as she was walking, she accidently saw a house that was made of mud. Its entrance was strange and round. She knocked one the door and waited. After a while, a mouse opened the door.
Hello little guest! I think it’s cold out there! Do you wanna come in? Said the mouse.
Yes! thank you!
So what is your story tiny girl?
Thumbelina started to tell the whole story for her new friend.
Don’t worry at all! You can stay here as long as you want.
So Thumbelina started her new life in her new house. She wanted to be useful, so she would cook food every day and tell stories for little mouse.
One day, when Thumbelina was cooking, mouse came by and said:
I invited a good friend of mine. He is one of the richest mice ever.
So Thumbelina cooked a delicious dinner. That night, all three of them talked and had a great time at the dinner table. The rich mouse fell in love with Thumbelina and said:
I will marry you! I want you to come with me and visit my house!
Thumbelina had no choice, So The three of them headed to the house of the rich mouse. in the middle of their journey, they reached a tunnel where they found an injured swallow.
What is he doing down here?! He should be in the air! Said the rich mouse rudely and kicked the swallow!
Thumbelina was shocked.
How could anyone treat another like this! Oh dear! She thought!
So she ran away when she got a chance. She hid behind a rock and waited for the mouse to go! Then she came back and took care of the swallow until he was fine and healthy again. It was spring and the swallow was able to fly again.
I have to go and find my family! They went to a warmer place! come with me! We’re gonna have so much fun! Said the swallow!
But Thumbelina had enough adventure! So she said goodbye to the swallow and he flew away!
months passed and Thumbelina was still wandering in the nature when she stumbled upon the rich mouse again!
OH my beloved tiny bride! I’ve been looking for you for months! Now that I found you, you have to marry me!
Thumbelina knew that there is no way out of this!
OK! But please let me spend just one day more in the open air before coming with you to your underground house.
As she was spending her last hours in the open field, she heard a familiar voice:
Come! Come away with me where your sprit will always be free! Said the swallow!
Happy of meeting her old friend, she agreed to go on a trip with him. She hopped on his back and they took of. They flew over forests, oceans and lands!
When they reached the land of flowers, The swallow landed Thumbelina on a beautiful rose petal and said:
This is the kingdom of flowers! And This is their king!
He was a handsome young king with a pair of wings who was surrounded by lovely flowers. The king immediately fell in love with Thumbelina!
Once upon a time, a poor miller lived with her three sons. Years has passed and the miller of our story got old and died. He left nothing for his sons except a mill, a donkey and a cat. The oldest boy took the mill. The middle one took the monkey. So The cat was the youngest boy share.
Well! The youngest boy whispered, I will eat this cat and make some gloves with its fur! And that is the end of it! I won’t have anything else and I will die out of hunger!
The cat, who was listening stated to talk:
OH dear master! Don’t be sad at all! Just give me a bag and a pair of boots! The will show you that I’m not such a bad inheritance!
The boy, who saw many trick from the cat over all that years, which it performed to catch mice like pretending to be dead or hiding in the grain. So he thouth:
It doesn’t seem impossible that this cat could help me!
So he gave his bag to the cat and spend his last coins for buying a pair of boots for it!
looking gallant in the boots, he put bran and corn in his bag and put it around his neck. Then he slept near rabbit nest, pretending to be dead. He waited for innocent rabbits to come around and look for corn and bran.
Not very long after, a stupid naughty rabbit came and jumped into his bag. The Puss quickly closed the bag. Happy with his caught, He went to the palace and asked for talking to the emperor!
OH! His Majesty! I brought you a warrior rabbit! My proud master, Marquis of Carabas, ordered me to present to you.
Tell your master that I thanked him and he does me a great deal of pleasure.
After that, Puss again hid in the cornfield, holding still his bag open, and when a brace of partridges ran into it he closed the bag and caught them both. He went and made a present of these to the king, as he had done before of the rabbit. The king, in like manner, received the partridges with great pleasure, and ordered him some money for drink.
In this way, the cat continued for two or three months to bring presents to the king, always saying that they were from his master, the Marquis of Carabas. One day in particular, he heard at the palace that the king was planning to drive in his carriage along the river bank, and he decided to take his daughter with him. The Princess was the most beautiful girl in the kingdom.
Puss in Boots said to his master:
Follow my lead and your future is made. You have to but go and wash yourself in the river, in the place that I shall show you, and leave the rest to me.
The youngest son did the exact him, without knowing why or wherefore. While he was washing, the king passed by, and the cat began to cry out:
Help! Help! My Lord, Marquis of Carabas, is drowning!
At this noise the king put his head out of the coach window, and finding it was the cat who had so often brought him such good things, ordered his guards to run quickly to the aim of his Lordship, the Marquis of Carabas.
While they were helping the poor Marquis out of the river, the cat came up to the coach and told the king that while his master was washing, there came by some Thieves, who took his clothes:
Thieves! Thieves! He moaned!
This tricky cat had hidden the clothes under a great stone. The king immediately commanded the guards of his wardrobe to run and prepare one of his best suits for the Lord Marquis of Carabas.
The king was very happy to meet the Marquis of Carabas. The Miller’s boy looked really handsome in royal clothes. The king’s daughter took a secret glimpse to him. And soon, she fell in love with him because of his manners and good look!
The king invited him to sit in the coach and ride along with them. Celebrating the progress of his project in his heart, the cat started to march before the coach. after a while, He saw countrymen who where mowing a meadow:
OH you kind hearted people! I order you to tell the king that this meadow belongs to my master, Marquis of Carabas, or I will command those guards to kill you all!
Moments later, The king asked the countrymen:
Who owns this meadow that you are mowing, people?!
To my Lord Marquis of Carabas! answered they altogether, since the cat scared them to death!
You see, your majesty, said the Marquis, this meadow gives a plentiful harvest every year!
They started moving again. The Puss who was still walking in front of them, met with some reapers, and said to them:
Good people, you who are reaping, you have to tell the king that all this corn belongs to the Marquis of Carabas, I’ll order those soldiers to kill you.
The king, who passed by a moment after, wished to know to whom all that corn, asked the reapers:
Who does own this corns?
To my Lord Marquis of Carabas, replied the reapers.
Then the king said:
Let us now head to your castle.
